Porta Mare (Gate to the sea)
It dates back to the early 19th century, and it is the only one which survived the Second World War, in fact the older Porta Ravenna and Porta Cesenatico disappeared long ago.
It is a large, semi-circular arch overlooking Viale Roma, and its main function was to permit an easier, more comfortable access to the sea as well as a more rapid connection to the historical centre.
