Tourism Cervia Municipality

In 2006, Cervia’s Lifeguards Co-op (Cooperativa Bagnini di Cervia) started an important renewal trend based on a newly organised  management policy for the re-qualification of bathing entrepreneurial businesses.

In this aim, the Co-op started a Beach System Quality Certification which brought to the approval of Cervia’s bathing entrepreneurial businesses according to ISO 9001:2000 standards within 2008. The project especially intends to grant small and medium enterprises a chance to start a service quality certification which would have otherwise been impossible because of high economic and organisational costs.

The project was further recognised on an international level and recommended by FEE - Foundation for Environmental Education as a main reference for European bathing systems.

TüV Süd, the most important and rigorous quality certification company, was chosen as providing body of such quality assessment, while Serint Group acted as consultant to the whole process.

The project targets are the enhancement of the whole bathing system by means of an upgrading process allowing the whole of “Cervia’s bathing system” to be fully competitive, and that of offering bathing system businesses the chance to start a quality certification process.

On the assumption that each single customer is not simply a consumer, but a guest, services are supplied in full compliance with recognised quality standards in order to defend the rights of tourists.

A further  objective is that of increasing sustainability thanks to the adoption of environmental-friendly consumption policies: among these, recycling collection, adoption of policies against noise pollution, water supplies reduction.
