What you can do in Cervia on the occasion of Ironman
The great sporting event is also an opportunity to experience a vacation of nature, culture and well-being. Here are some suggestions.
1.
Visit to the Butterflies House
The House of Butterflies is a theme park that stimulates and brings visitors closer to the wonders of nature and biodiversity.
Thousands of colourful butterflies from the tropical regions of Africa, Asia, America and Australia live inside the greenhouse.
2.
Excursions to the Club Canoa and Kayak
In the heart of Milano Marittima, along the canal dotted with fishing huts, the Club offers excursions amidst evocative nature.
It is possible to rent canoes and kayaks for a ‘walk’ on the water alone or with guides.
Starting from the canal, you will cross fascinating landscapes along the waterway until you reach the Salina, the sea or the mouth of the Bevano.
3.
A round of golf in the Adriatic Golf Club
Cervia is synonymous with sport and is increasingly chosen for major events, such as the Italian Golf Open presented by Regione Emilia-Romagna.
Get involved yourself, challenge your friends on the course of this historic Club following in the footsteps of great champions!
Awaiting you is a 27-hole course that stretches over an area of almost 100 hectares along the ancient pine forest and the sea of Milano Marittima.
4.
MUSA - Salt Museum
The origin of the Cervia salt is very ancient, probably Greek. Salt, called ‘white gold’ was, at the time, rare and precious.
MUSA preserves an important chapter of Cervia's history. Created by the Cultural Group Civilità Salinara to keep alive the memory of work in the salt works, the museum today houses documents, tools, photographs and materials that testify to the various phases of salt production and harvesting.
5.
Full immersion in the Cervia Saltpans
The Cervia Salt Pan is a unique environment, both from a naturalistic point of view and for the landscape it offers.
It extends parallel to the coast over an area of 827 hectares and is the southern gateway to the Po Delta Park.
A paradise for birdwatchers and avifauna lovers, Cervia Sweet Salt, prized and used in gourmet recipes and cosmetics, is produced here.
6.
A tasteful walk along the canal port
Between the San Michele Tower and the Lighthouse lies the historic Borgomarina district, with the old and characteristic low, colourful houses of Cervia's fishermen.
Here you can enjoy a typical Romagna dinner, a plate of fresh fish or gourmet compositions in its many bars overlooking the canal port or along the streets of the centre.
7.
Wellness day at the spa
Sea, salt marsh and pine forest make the Cervia Spa the ideal place for treatment and relaxation.
Surrounded by centuries-old pine trees in a lush vegetation, at the Spa the water and mud come from the nearby salt mine. Detoxifying courses, invigorating sessions, massages and beauty care are based on the healing properties of the Acqua Madre and Limen Mud.
Igor Mitoraj exhibition
If you are an art and culture lover, you cannot miss the free exhibition of the famous sculptor ‘Igor Mitoraj: Sculpting Eternity’ at the MarePineta in Milano Marittima.
