Angelika, love fountain
The fountain is a commemoration of the love between Helmut and Angelika, a German couple from Nuremberg, which used to spend their holiday in Cervia.
They discovered the seaside resort by chance many years ago, but since then they never missed the appointment with Cervia, year after year, until when, unfortunately, Angelika passed away regretfully.
So the sculpture symbolizes Helmut love for Angelika and the love they felt for the city where they had such nice times and memories.
The bronze statue is 2 m. high; the marble pool is 2,95 m. long, 1,5 m. width and 17 cm. depth; the mosaic basement is 4 square meters.
The artist Daniel Prapone realized this monument in 400 hours of work and the engineer Diego Poltronieri supervised the installation.
On the inauguration day, the Mayor, Roberto Zoffoli, said: “Cervia is grateful to Helmut because the gift of this fountain does not only represents the love for a woman, but it is also the symbol of a strong link with our city and the wishes of friendship among people”.
