Umberto Foschi (1916-2000)
A great historian and man of letters from Cervia, Foschi has always known how to evoke the hidden soul of his own land with detailed research.
He was a versatile researcher, expert in Italian and dialectic literature, art and the history of architecture. He was also an expert of political, civil, social and religious events, as well as popular issues like those of important families in Romagna.
Foschi dedicated a great part of his life to the investigation into the historical roots of contemporary life, avoiding local patriotism, but always trying to clarify the origins of all cultural aspects related to present-day Romagna.
