15th edition of exhibitions dedicated to Diabolik

Cervia, Diabolika Summer

 

A Diabolika Summer in this edition wants to remember Alfredo Castelli, Astorina's historical collaborator, and celebrate the 80th birthday of Patricia Martinelli, for nine years Editor-in-Chief of the Diabolik title.

Four exhibitions on the programme

The exhibitions, introduced by explanatory panels, many comics and some gadgets, recreate the atmosphere of Diabolik.

The materials also include an extensive collection of comics and essays by Alfredo Castelli on Diabolik, the Diabolik strips published in Strisce e Musica, the albetto Applausi per Diabolik (Applause for Diabolik), an insert of TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, a selection of Matteo Mazzacurati's comic production, the career of Patricia Martinelli and the graphic evolution of Lino Landolfi, cartoonist and illustrator, as well as many Diabolik comics.


Homage to Alfredo Castelli

A great Italian cartoonist, cartoonist, essayist and comics historian, he developed subjects and scripts for the Diabolik series.

The Great Diabolik and Patricia Martinelli

Martinelli, born in Cervia, is a journalist, intellectual, master of the comic strip detective story and historical author of the 'King of Terror' Diabolik.


Matteo Mazzacurati: profile of a cartoonist, author of this edition's poster

Mazzacurati is a cartoonist who spans various genres. A graduate in Translation and Interpretation from the University of Bologna, he has dedicated himself to Ninth Art since his youth and has numerous publications to his credit.

On the occasion of the Tour de France passing through Cervia, he drew Diabolik and Eva on a bicycle.


Lino Landolfi and the Victorious

The policeman Procopio di Torrecupa

Lino Landolfi, was born in Rome in 1925, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1948 he became a regular contributor to Vittorioso, for which he created the story of the policeman 'Procopio di Torrecupa', narrator of the exploits of his ancestors.
