Around the World in 80 Kites
The exhibition
The exhibition offers an opportunity for festival lovers to deepen their passion and for neophytes to understand the artistic and cultural value of an event that, since its first edition, has seen original creations and artefacts of millenary tradition from more than 80 countries around the world flying in the skies of Cervia. Celebrating the kite as an emblem of a harmonious relationship with the environment, the exhibition intends to convey the "spirit" of the art of the wind by continuing the path begun with the first episode of the event that marked the debut of ARTEVENTO's new exhibition project in October 2021.
Homage to Japan
The exhibition pays homage to the country that more than any other has developed the tradition of the kite in an extraordinary variety of forms and meanings.
The exhibition is organised under the patronage of the Japanese Cultural Institute in Italy, ASCIG Associazione Scambi Culturali Italia e Giappone and the Japan Kite Association.
The exhibition also marks the prestigious twinning between the Kite Museum's collection and the Tako-No-Hakubutsukan Kite Museum in Tokyo, presenting for the first time in Europe more than 20 kites arriving from the legendary Tokyo institution at the behest of its Director Masaaki Modegi and collector Kenzo Suzuki.
Opening on Friday 11th October at 6 p.m.
