The Grace of the brush, the Werther rhyme
from Saturday 3rd August to Satrurday 31st August 2024
Milano Marittima, Werther Morigi's historic studio
The exhibition of paintings linking the writer Grazia Deledda and the painter Werther Morigi continues.
After the first exhibition, eleven canvases inspired by some of the novellas in the Nobel Prize winner's 1933 book, "Sole d'estate - Summer Sun", are presented in this second appointment.
The protagonist is the sunlight that confides, warms, calms the souls and hidden interiorities. The sun that from Nuoro turns the sunflowers in the garden of Villa Caravella in Cervia, that gilds the reflection of the sea, indicates the truce between concrete and vegetation, reveals the nostalgic past, the intricate present, the dream of the future.
In Morigi's canvases, the warm eye of the summer sun present in Deledda's fairy-tale lyricism germinates. Quiet, riary and fiery tones that enchant the reflections of the sunset between which the reveries of painter and writer, the impetuous and cordial characters of Romagna and Sardinia, challenge each other. Sincerely liars between palette and writing desk, in the art of sublime fiction mediated in colours, verses, brushes, sheets to overcome what we call truth.
The titles of the paintings on display include Bonaccia, Luna di Settembre, Scherzi di Primavera and Thèros.
