La Milanesiana
La Milanesiana, the largest itinerant festival promoting dialogue between the arts, celebrates its 25th edition.
Each year it focuses a theme that characterises and runs through the entire programme; this year it is dedicated to the theme of SHYNESS (AND ITS CONTRARIES).
Elisabetta Sgarbi, artistic director of the festival, writes: "Shyness is a way of looking at the world while also considering the worlds of others. Indeed, above all, considering the worlds of others. Shyness is first and foremost listening, and it loves peace, a term we used to take for granted, but which now resembles a chimera. I cannot, however, hide my fascination for the opposites of Shyness, for the histrionics and extroversion that belong less to me, but whose beauty I sense all the same. That is why I have not only indulged in praising Shyness, but have added its 'contraries', whether good or bad'.
Since its first edition, La Milanesiana has been a great 'laboratory of excellence' of literature, cinema, music, art, science, philosophy, but also economics, sport and comics.
Its project is to bring together different knowledge and arts with the international excellence of the cultural and scientific world: Nobel Prize winners in Literature, Nobel Prize winners in Science, Oscar winners in Cinema, musicians who have received major international awards.
Over the years, it has increasingly extended its sphere of action and today Milanesiana takes place not only in Milan, the city where it was born, but also in 25 cities in Italy, with over 60 meetings and events, welcoming more than 150 Italian and international guests.
