The young and talented violinist of the Young Musicians European Orchestra performs a solo concert on the occasion of the city's patron saint.
An imaginative musician and recognised as a leading violinist of his generation, Ion Mihail has the privilege of playing with one of the very few Stradivarius violins in the world dating from 1730.
The evening's programme includes Bach‘s Partita No. 2 in D minor, Saariaho’s Nocturne for solo violin, Ysaye ‘s Sonata No. 2 to Jacques Thibaud, and Paganini “s Introduction and Variations in G major for solo violin on the theme Nel cor più non mi sento from Giovanni Paisiello”s opera “La Bella Molinara”.
