On Saturday 25th May at 9 p.m., the great masterpiece of sacred music Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi will be performed in Cervia Cathedral by the Young Musicians European Orchestra.
"The famous medieval text written by Jacopone da Todi," says the conductor Paolo Olmi, "describes the weeping of the Madonna before Jesus crucified and is interpreted by two female voices accompanied by the organ and orchestra".
In addition to the orchestra, soprano Giorgia Costantino and mezzo-soprano Maria Lucia Bazza will perform.
The evening is part of the "Per chi Crea" project promoted by the SIAE - Società Italiana Autori ed Editori.
After Cervia, the performance will be repeated in Morocco, as part of the programme of the Fez Festival of Sacred Music.
