Solidarity Concert
Now a regular feature of the Christmas events in Cervia, this year too the concert is organised to raise funds (free offers) for the Avsi Foundation.
The rich programme of the concert includes music and Christmas carols from various eras and styles, to celebrate Christmas and share the joy of the holidays.
Protagonists of this 9th edition are the Ad Novas Polyphonic Choir accompanied by the string quintet of the same name, directed by Prof. Monica Poletti.
In the second part of the concert, the pupils of the IC CERVIA 3 Middle School will perform.
Ad Novas Polyphonic Choir
Directed since its foundation in 1987 by Professor Monica Poletti, pianist and singer, who also takes care of the vocal technical training, the Ad Novas Polyphonic Choir is currently composed of 30 choristers divided into 4 voice sections and has more than 300 concerts to its credit and the publication of two CDs: ‘Voci di Natale’ and ‘Da cant e cor’. The repertoire includes sacred music, secular Renaissance music, Christmas carols, and popular songs from Romagna, opera choirs and Neapolitan songs.
Every year it participates in the traditional ‘Sposalizio del mare’ in Cervia, performing in historical Renaissance costumes, and in addition to its a cappella formation, the choir usually performs accompanied by string orchestras and instrumental groups of various kinds, offering a valuable training opportunity to young musicians.
