Across 1000 is a race and swimming event, a movement to inspire environmental stewardship and encourage people to take action for a healthier planet.
It is a challenge, launched by Andrea Pelo di Giorgio: participants will swim within a triangular course along the coastline, embarking on an epic journey that symbolises both the physical endurance of cetaceans and the many animals that populate the Oceans and Seas and the commitment to safeguarding our marine ecosystems. The goal is to reach 1000 km of open water swimming: the sum of the km will be the sum of the effort of each participant.
The initiative is in support of Sea Shepherd Italy's Ghostnet campaign.
