La Divina cycle race
La Divina cycle race
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27th October 2024
A non-competitive race, dedicated to historical cycling enthusiasts
Following the example of the great historical cycling events in Italy, starting with the most famous, the Eroica, the event has become an annual appointment for all cycling enthusiasts.
A cyclo-historical event is a cycling event that evokes the cycling of the past, using period bicycles and clothing. The bicycles that participate have special features such as a steel frame, the gear lever on the frame tube, and the brake cable routing outside the handlebars. The bicycles are all built before 1987 and the clothing of the participants is also vintage.
The Ravenna stage has already been included in the circuit of the Giro d'Italia d'Epoca, a cycle of events dedicated to vintage cycling, which brings together all of Italy's historic bicycles. The Giro stops in the most beautiful Italian locations and in the places of heroic cycling, that of the great champions of the past.
The Ciclostorica, due to its connotation of "slow" non-competitive cycling, enhances the development of the territory and the protection of the landscape by appreciating the beauty of unspoilt places accessible only by two wheels and opens the way to an alternative tourism that in recent years has aroused a strong interest.
