Visiting Romagna
A stone's throw from the sea. Once past the A Road no. 16 , which follows the coastline, one enters the hinterland of Romagna and can travel through it, reaching the farthest places, on the hills, in about an hour or an hour and a half or go as far as the nearest ones lying on the plain in twenty to thirty minutes. One can enjoy unexpected encounters with art, history, culture, typical rural or handcrafted products, natural parks and wellness oases.
To do so, one only needs to pick half a day out of a summer holiday and dedicate it to such encounters - or simply plan a spring or autumn weekend when it is easier to organise excursions or guided tours.
The hamlets on the plain and those on the hills all hold nice surprises. Bertinoro, land of the blond Albana DOCG wine and symbol of Romagna with the historic 'Hospitality Column' in the central square. The Bishop's Fortress, now a university centre, houses the Interreligious Museum, dedicated to the three great monotheistic religions.

Then there is, Faenza, the capital of ceramics, with its International Museum and craft workshops, Brisighella with its characteristic mediaeval village and its PDO extra-virgin olive oil, Casola Valsenio with its Garden of Medicinal Herbs, Lugo, with its museum dedicated to Francesco Baracca, hero of the First World War.
Just 25 km from Cervia, Ravenna offers visitors the treasures of Byzantine mosaic art and invites meditation in front of Dante Alighieri's Mausoleum. The ancient capital of the Western Roman Empire, it offers visitors eight UNESCO monuments, mosaics of the Byzantine school, archaeological sites and art exhibitions at the MAR- City Museum.
In the two natural parks of the Po Delta and the Casentino Forests, it is possible to follow green itineraries through characteristic landscapes and villages.
Farms are ready to welcome guests into their cellars to taste fine DOC and DOCG wines, while artisan workshops offer demonstrations of traditional "handmade", rust-coloured printed canvases, ceramics and mosaics.

tradition and the salt of Cervia. The route takes place along the Via Romea Germanica, arriving as far as Rome, where the salt will be delivered to Pope Francis together with the mayor.
Finally, for those who love to explore not only the territories, but also the sea, trips are available on the high seas along the Adriatic coast from Cervia-Milano Marittima to the methane platforms and Gabicce, with the New Ghibli motorboat.
